A makeover is synonymous with change, renewal and starting afresh. It can be as small or as big as you’d like it to be. And the best part is that it can be for any reason. Feeling great about your promotion? Bored with your ancient wardrobe? Want to get in shape for your cousin’s wedding? Well, you know what; one’s as good a reason as the other. It can be to add a bit of spice to your life, to shake things up or maybe you’re ready for a master overhauling. So we’ve rounded up some of the basic aspects, when it comes to making changes.

Hair:
One of my favourite parts of a makeover and probably the most liberating of them all is going in for a sexy new do. My advice though would be, don’t go extreme because you just might regret it. Instead of going from super long to really short, maybe go in between. And the same applies to hair colour. Thanks to technology you can now have fun with virtual makeovers where you can experiment all you want. And worse come to worst – its hair, it’ll grow back.

Make up:
If you’re one of those people who’s been doing their makeup exactly the same way for years, then I say it’s time for a change. And hey, the best part is, if you don’t like it, no worries, it’s not permanent. Remember that trends change over the years. So, the shade that was ‘so in’ when you were in school might not be any more. Plus, it’s nice to have a little variety, to suit your mood or the occasion.

Wardrobe:
When you’re thinking ‘revamp’, this is it. One of the most amazing things is getting rid of all that stuff in your closet that you haven’t used in ages, that’s honestly just taking up space. Nothing brings down confidence like clothes that don’t fit or outfits that just aren’t ‘you’ anymore. And you don’t have to go broke, restocking. Just shop smart, add a few essential items and accessorize.

Body:
The way we feel about our bodies most often determines the way we feel about ourselves. Most of our insecurity springs from there. So take that extra effort to get in shape. And just so you know, people that have bodies to die for, spend time taking care of them. And once again, it doesn’t have to be extreme. Go one step at a time. Or pay a little more attention to the body part that’s bothering you.

Lifestyle:
Now here’s the interesting thing… a makeover doesn’t necessarily refer only to the way you look. A change in lifestyle is a makeover as well. And it can help you lead a healthier, happier life. Whether it’s tightening those purse strings, or finally getting the chance to pamper yourself, or spending time with the person you love, this could be the change that matters the most.

So don’t be afraid to peel away those layers and have fun reinventing yourself.
