Fashion shows are becoming more and more popular as being stylish is no longer the prerogative of a fortuned few. While it’s a great experience for everyone, fashionable or not, there are a few things to help the process and make it more enjoyable.

Stay clear of the Catwalk:
At a fashion show, the Runway is sacred. Not only does it take a lot of effort to make sure it stays spotless until the show begins, but it’s also extremely tacky to be stomping all over it. Just walk the couple of extra steps around it. Plus, the workout will probably do you good.

Dress to impress:
Events like these call for you to bring out your best threads. If you’re in the front row, remember that people can see your feet. So, strap on those sexy shoes. Also there’s no better way to pay homage to a particular designer than to wear one of their outfits to their show.

Arrive on time:
Unless you have specific seats reserved for you, it’s best to get there a little early so you’re not either scrambling for the front or stuck in the back. Especially in the case where everyone’s standing, you don’t want to only be able to see heads.

Applause:
While appreciation in the form of applause is welcome at any show, try not to embarrass the models on the runway, even if you know them. Or should I say, especially if you know them. When the designer makes his or her appearance, is the best time for extra cheering.

Remember your manners:
Like any other time in life, it won’t hurt to be well mannered. Saying ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’ as opposed to the pushing and shoving that have come to accompany events of this kind.

General knowledge:
It helps to know who the designers are. A large number of people often have no idea who the show is by or what it’s for. We’re not saying you need to be well versed on styles and patterns but hey, a name here and there won’t hurt.

The fashion factor:
Yes, we know the models are pretty but this is a reminder that fashion shows are about the clothes. Well, primarily, at least. So, if you’re comparing notes with your friends on who looks hotter, than at least wait till later!

Retail therapy:
Almost all of the time, the success of a show is determined, ultimately by sales. So if you see something you like, there’s nothing wrong with making sure you get it. I don’t mean flip out your wallet there and then but, you can book it for yourself.

So, keep your eyes peeled and have fun at the next fashion show!
